About Melrose Music Society

Every year since its founding in 1962 the Society has presented a season of chamber concerts, running from September to March, performed by artists of national and international renown. Some of our visiting musicians are young performers in the early stages of their professional career, while others have well-established reputations. We also like to encourage home-grown talent from Scotland as well as welcoming performers from further afield.

The concerts and recitals take place in Melrose Parish Church Hall where we are delighted to offer pianists the opportunity to perform on our beautiful Petrof grand piano, an instrument which has received praise from all of our previous performers and is a wonderful asset for the Society. Our concerts are open to all, though Society members qualify for significant discounts and other advantages – please see Membership and Tickets for details.

So often one's enjoyment of good music is limited to what can be offered on the airwaves or on CD: the experience of live performance of the very highest standards, in intimate surroundings, is something quite different.

The Society is delighted to have the Duke of Buccleuch KBE as Patron.

We are grateful for the continued support of our members, audiences, sponsors and Enterprise Music Scotland (on behalf of Creative Scotland).
